TITLE: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program Coordinator
LOCATION: Urbana Adult Education Center
HOURS: 8 hours/day; Monday-Friday
SCHEDULE: 10-month; 210 day calendar (includes 10 paid holidays)
SUPERVISOR: Director
SUPERVISES: CNA Instructors, in collaboration with the director
JOB SUMMARY: Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring quality of instruction and professional development for supervised staff. The Program Coordinator is also the lead instructor and responsible for maintaining an updated curriculum to meet state standards and ensure IDPH/IBHE compliance. The coordinator works directly with the director to achieve program success and sustainability.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
- Assume an active role as a member of the school leadership team by assisting with the grants process to aid in meeting the goals of Urbana Adult Education and the CNA program.
- Collect, maintain, and analyze CNA-related data, including course completion rates, immunization records, application materials, applicant demographics, application rates, and state exam results
- Prepare IDPH Master Schedule, get signatures, and submit to IDPH. Email IDPH with any changes during the class due to scheduling conflicts, instructor illness, etc.
- Lead and coordinate orientation and graduation.
- Lead and coordinate classroom, lab, and clinical instruction
- Plan and prepare for classroom, lab, and clinical instruction
- Maintain student and program records required by IDPH, clinical sites and Urbana Adult Education
- Oversee planning, facilitation, and follow-up of collaborative team meetings
- Team-teach with colleagues and demonstrate model lessons
- Develop and implement a curriculum that adheres to IDPH requirements and professional best practices for health care workers.
- Participate in workshops, seminars, conferences and/or advanced coursework which further advance knowledge of current trends in effective nursing and CNA instructional practices
- Complete all administrative and management- related CNA tasks
- Maintain and forward all required information to IDPH
- Ensure that the IDPH is notified prior to any changes in personnel, contact information, or location of the Urbana Adult Education CNA program
- Ensure the CNA program meets all IDPH regulations and requirements. Maintain all records verifying compliance.
- Maintain correspondence and collaboration with clinical sites. Collaborate with clinical sites to ensure their requirements are met.
- Lead and facilitate CNA program registration and orientation, including recruitment, tracking required paperwork, etc.
- Collaborate with Student Services to facilitate all required program assessments.
- Collaborate with WIOA program staff and assist with WIOA CNA recruitment, WIOA student application and data collection, etc.
- Register students for the state certification exam. Coordinate payment with finance personnel.
- Ensure IDPH Health Care Worker Registry (HCWR) requirements are fulfilled, including fingerprinting and updates of student biographical data during class term.
- Conduct other duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS: The program coordinator must be a registered nurse, with a current, active Illinois license to practice; who is in good standing with the Illinois Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 210 days; Salary range: $55,000-$70,000
EVALUATION: To be completed annually by the Director using a district-approved evaluation instrument.
START DATE: July 28, 2024 (tentatively)
NOTE: This is an EXEMPT, non-bargaining unit, non-administrative position.
