TITLE:  Elementary After School Programming Coordinator(Grant Funded)

 

LOCATION: Yankee Ridge

 

SUPERVISES:  Teachers and Teaching Assistants

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily:

  1. Coordinate and implement grant -based after school programs in accordance with district/grant policies and regulations for building level programming.
  2. Assist the administrative team in planning and designing the program and establishing and maintaining communication with stakeholders.
  3. Engage staff to develop instructional and assessment practices linking the school day curriculum with the extended day program.
  4. Work with staff to reach out and actively engage students and families representatives of the school population in the program.
  5. Facilitate the development and selection of project-based interactive after school enrichment programming.
  6. Develop procedures and policies for operation of the after school program.
  7. Recruit, hire, and supervise staff including planning staff schedules, reviewing timesheets, submitting requests for staff stipends, and arranging substitute coverage for absences.
  8. Maintain student enrollment records, class schedules and all other necessary documentation.
  9. Meet regularly with extended day staff, facilitate orientation training, and staff development activities.
  10. Work with community partners when applicable, to plan and implement components of the project.  Facilitate partner orientation.
  11. Work with school district partners (Building Principal, Mentor/Volunteer Coordinator, Classroom Teachers, Social Worker, Family Liaison) to integrate components of the program.
  12. Promote and market information about the after school program to targeted students, parents and the community, based on established criteria.
  13. Maintain and reconcile budget related documentation and report information to the administrative team in a timely fashion.
  14. Meet deadlines, follow protocol, complete required reports and required grant documentation.
  15. Assist in the collection of data for the evaluation team.  Collaborate with the administrative and evaluation team to report findings.
  16. Manage program logistics (assign rooms, manage materials and resources.)
  17. Initiate and meet all responsibilities in a timely manner.

 

Minimal Educational Requirements:

  1. Master's degree in Education or a related field.
  2. Type 75 desired.
  3. Bilingual preferred.

 

Qualifications:

  1. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  2. Willingness and ability to plan, design, and implement a grant program.
  3. Experience in coordinating programs.
  4. Experience in the field of education, recreation, and/or grant management.
  5. Experience working with community organizations.
  6. Experience in Bilingual education.
  7. Must be an internal USD 116 teacher

 

Other skills and abilities:

  1. Ability to manage both daytime and extended day duties.
  2. Strong attention to detail and organization.
  3. Ability to make decisions and exercise independent judgment regarding student conduct.
  4. Leadership ability in all areas of administering the program, instruction and assessment.
  5. Experience maintaining fiscal records, collection of data, reporting requirements.

 

NOTE:

  1. Position contingent upon grant funding.
  2. This position is not part of the collective bargaining unit and is a non-exempt position.

  3. Preference given to internal building staff and will be open to district staff to help fill positions.
  4. Stipend & hourly position; Planning Stipend ($500) and hourly rate $42/hour, maximum of 6.0 hours per week.
