TITLE: Choir Accompanist

LOCATION: UHS and/or UMS

SUPERVISOR:   Secondary Music Coordinator and Supervising Teacher

JOB SUMMARY: This position involves accompanying choral ensembles as well as small student groups. The position also requires some vocal coaching and teaching of parts to individuals and small groups. This requires about three hours a week during most of the school year, but the hours may increase as we get closer to performances.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Piano accompanying for large groups and small ensembles
• Teaching vocal parts

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  

• Good sight reading skills
• Ability to play parts from a four stave score

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Accompanying experience with other groups and individuals

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• Stipend Position
• Approximately 3 hours a week (increase in hours as performances approach)
• Will work in the music ensemble classrooms and practice rooms at UHS and/or UMS

EVALUATION:  Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.

START DATE:  ASAP
