TITLE: Multitiered System of Support (MTSS/ PBIS) Coach
LOCATION: Urbana High School
Qualifications
- Specific knowledge and skills
- Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports, problem solving, school improvement processes, and RtI
- Coaching competencies (i.e.: establishing and maintaining positive relationships, communicating effectively, facilitating team processes, providing on-going support and formative feedback)
- Fosters positive relationships with other faculty/staff/family/student members
- Promotes shared decision-making and has the ability to work collaboratively with administrator/decision makers in the building
- Uses an Equity lens when observing and participating in PBIS/MTSS practices.
Communication
- Provide professional development to stakeholders on:
- Universal & Tier 2/3 interventions
- Systems student access (i.e.: how to refer students, how students are monitored)
- Faculty responsibilities for implementation
- Regular data updates on interventions via monthly staff meetings or Staff Development opportunities.
- Communicate with building administrator data, updates, and needs on a regular basis
- Share Annual Report with the district team (i.e.: District Leadership Team, Board of Education).
- Communicate with district PBIS External Coach around training, technical assistance, and other supports needed to implement secondary and tertiary PBIS.
Coordination with Tier 2/3 Team Members
- Facilitate monthly Universal & PBIS Team meetings (schedule, agenda, process)
- Participate in and/or facilitate individual problem solving team meetings.
- Facilitate development, implementation and progress-monitoring of universal & Tier 2/3 interventions.
- Coordinate with building leadership team efforts to integrate PBIS into the continuous school improvement plan and equity.
Evaluation
- Collect and analyze data for problem solving, decision-making, action planning, and equity:
- PBIS implementation process data: Tracking tool (monthly), SAS, SWPBIS Tiered Fidelity Inventory
- Monitor student overrepresentation and disproportionality, outcome data, and review of interventions
- Document success of Universal & Tier 2/3 interventions
- Ensure data and assessments are turned in a timely manner
Technical Assistance
- Providing technical assistance to building teams, staff, and facilitators around Tier 2/3 interventions
Training
- Participate in District Coaches Meetings, Program Council, and other opportunities provided for internal coaches to support implementation.
